Mum and son at home
The weather was pretty gloomy during this at-home session, but we still managed to get some fun bits in the garden at the end. Baby was just starting to say a few words and was such a chatterbox! We started in the living room where Baby showed me all his fun toys, naming quite a few of them too! Lighting-wise I found a good spot next to a window, and it worked even better thanks to a sliding door to the garden on the other end of the room, which gave a lovely fill light. The difficulty with shooting in people’s homes is definitely lighting. Because the nicest areas might not necessarily be the ones that have the best light. As I work with natural light, next to a window is usually the best.
The big bed is where we had the most fun, and we spent the majority of the session there. Rolling around, jumping, cuddles with Mum, as well as reading Baby’s favourite book. The large window next to the bed gave an absolutely gorgeous light.
After that, Baby needed to run around a bit, so we headed to the garden. This little man was fast! I basically had to run around to keep up with him. He really put the autofocus on my camera to the test, he never stood still! We ended the session with Mum singing to him, taking in the stunning view from their garden.
Here is a sneak peak of their photo session!
